Sorry about the misstype of playing against the preflop raiser instead of the SB, not that it changes much, I'd put them on the same set of hands.

He calls $12 (a 3bet) into a pot of $32 (mistake #1) with pocket 6s

Not the biggest mistake in the world IF you know how to get paid off when you hit and when to release when you don't. Obviously he doesn't so yes, huge fuckup lol

He hits his longshot set on the flop... a flop with an ace no less (and 2 preflop raisers behind him) and he checks?!?! (donkey mistake #2)

He flat calls on the flop that has a diamond draw and straight draws(donkey mistake #3)

I don't mind checking on the flop, but he has to raise on the flop if he does.

He checks on the turn... kind of forgivable I guess... a straight did make it here

A straight made it? Think I was 3 betting preflop w/78? lol. He figured me for an ace, since I raised pre, wanted to get in the big checkraise here. I can't forgive any of his play really.

I ALWAYS lead out when I hit my set. I don't, depends on a huge amount of variables per usual for me.
