LAR is not perfect either:

I've lost numerous matches where my LAR was way above 100%.

I've played near flawless matches against donks who made tons of blunders and still they came out as favourites because of some extremely skewed luck.

LAR may give an indication as to who was the favourite but so does ER. ER has the advantage of being comparable.

I prefer to look at the ER.
