Thanks Rich, this is quite correct. The task priority can be easily modified when GnuBG is already running by loading the task manager selecting the gnubg process in the list, right mouse clicking and selecting "Set Priority"/"Below Normal".

Because of the way GnuBG loads if you attempt to use the "cmd /c start /belownormal..." trick, the priority will always reset back to "Normal". Because of this for most people modifying it (as described above) once GnuBG is running is probably the easiest option.
