How to play illegally

In Response To: How to play illegally (Jason Lee)

I attempted to make two illegal plays this weekend myself, one was successful. Against Neil I tried to play five double 5s in a position where it basically didn't matter since I was cashing next turn but Neil caught me. In another match, I forget offhand against whom, I played a 21 illegally from the bar, first entering with the ace then forgetting I had entered with the ace after thinking about the play and making an illegal play that went unnoticed til a kibitzer told me about it after the match. I remembered the play and I agreed I had made an illegal play that benefited me.

So it happens to everyone which is why you should pay attention to the position, especially when your opponent rolls (small) doubles, it seems to me this is from where a larger portion of the accidental illegal plays stem. This is also why I prefer the one hand only rule to move the checkers, make it less confusing when ppl start shuffling them around.
