You'll be voted a Giant the very next time there is a vote, Stick. You may be taking MY place, as a matter of fact. If Matt were more assertive he might just make it too... For now, he is merely a great player.

STICK: I will always take about any bet before a match on me v. the other player where anyone takes the other player, just name your stakes before the first shake...it is of course -EV for the person across the table from me to allow you to bet on them

As for peers, most of the voters will not be your peers and it is quite often more of a popularity contest or name recognition. Howard Markowitz has been voted a Giant at least once, if not several times because he is known the world over. I think he was below you @ 64th the last time. Some players garner more votes by being nice to everyone who is a potential voter. Very few of the voters would be your peer, Mr. Sticky, but Matt is one of em. I'll bet on him for fun, I like his game and you have too many of my A. Jacksons anyway!
