Thanks for the kind words. Stick, Scott, Mary and Perry and I have all thought about ways to make this time more meaningful and educational. We all agree that Webex is a wonderful learning tool and we will be doing more.
Earlier in the day Scott and Stick played Matt Cohn-Geier and I a 5 point doubles match. We played non-consulting where each player makes a move (alternating), but there was consulting on the cube. We played on eXtreme gammon and after each game reviewed every move mistake and cube decision. It was fun and I truly did get a free lesson (also won $50 on the match).
I agree with you, Sal, that this would be a fun way to play and learn. I used to play Nack 3 point matches for $100 a match, but after each match he would critique my plays.
I am sure we can do something like this with Stick, Perry, Mary and other experts that would be fun, informative, and give them a chance to make some money for their time and expertise.
I use the webex a lot. I have over 100 people on line at once seeing and hearing my presentation on the Doubling Cube, and I will be doing another one soon on Checker Play.
I also believe there is no reason why the finals of all ABT events shouldn't be podcasted to the entire world. It's cheap and simple to do.
