Not really, unless one guy enters a tournament and wins it... Like a guy from LA who doesn't travel to other ABT events and his MWP would be 100%. So, there ought to be a minimum matches played limit.

I said Stick could have 30 points by July 4th because the winner of MSBC always earns 30 points.

The MVP, or Player of the Year would NOT be the same guy as the ABT Champion, mostly. The ABT Champ tends to be the guy who is lucky in Michigan, while the POY would be someone with best MWP over the year or highest rating which would probably have a direct and or synergistic effect.
