I'll stick my neck out here. (Am I allowed to say that in this forum?) Making the 2pt, or rather the arguments for making the deuce, has a whiff of the seventies. The notion that which points are made while blitzing doesn't matter is often wrong. It doesn't matter if you aren't hit, but it matters quite a bit when you are hit and wind up owning the deuce while your opponent owns your 4pt.

Of course not getting hit is pretty important! It is hard to sustain a blitz when you are on the roof.

So, I'd make the 3pt, but wouldn't be surprised if the 4pt was better, and would be surprised if making the deuce turned out best.
