As a side note if you go through the heads up record of Nadal v. Federer you'll see that seven of Nadal's nine wins were on clay and only recently has he beat Federer on any other surface. Federer has now managed to scrape two clay court wins himself. There's also nearly five years separating the two players, Roger clearly on the backend of his great career and Nadal right in his prime.
