Not quite sure what point you are making comparing Federer's and Borg's forehand, though it was interesting to note that Borg was using the rotational technique to generate power and topspin even in the wooden-racquet era. I hadn't realized that the old technology could cope with the forces.

The most interesting video I saw compared a modern tennis forehand to a discus thrower, showing how similar the actions are. I believe that many shot-putters are now using rotation, which suggests that different sports are converging on the technique that generates the most power.
