Didn't he just say you can't compare the eras, then he states the competition in this era is more fierce?

Boggles the mind doesn't it?

The thing is, of course the players are "better" in this era than in 1960s. Better racquets, better training equipment, better supplements... I think todays tech has made all athletes "better". But as far as accomplishing the single hardest thing to do in tennis, the calendar year grand slam, Laver has two of em which is more than Federer, Sampras, Agassi, Nadal, McEnroe, Borg, Lendl, and Emerson have combined.

I say until someone knocks that record down, Laver is the king of the castle.
