I made a call to a non BG friend of mine who owns a similar setup. I may be able to gain access to his system this weekend for benchmarks.

If anyone is using a dual quad AMD setup I'd love to hear from you.

I have a personal bias aginst AMD over the years for failed processors. However I know there are people who still swear by them (IBM and Sun use them). If they perform well then this is probably the type of thing that would not p*ss off the spouse when purchased - except when you explain why the electricty bill is higher running rollouts 24/7 ;-) .
