Is 2 minutes enough clock reserve time?

So in Carol's 17-point match, you are saying if either player ended with less than 5 minutes on their clock then they played too slowly? (Or they felt they were 'forced' to play too quickly?) I don't think that's a standard worth considering.
Only if they had -1 seconds left on their clock did they play too slowly. If Joe ended the match with 14 seconds left, we don't know if he was feeling forced by the clock or not. If he played the last 3 games with 14 seconds left, then sure. But I don't think that's the case.
Ask Bob Koca about using all the clock. He often does and I don't think he thinks his game is being hampered by the clock.
Basically, IMO, anyone that uses up almost all of their clock is doing so intentionally, (ala UBK), or wasting time in a variety of ways.
The clocks ARE supposed to 'force' players to play at a reasonable rate. If you keep extending the time limit, soon their isn't any pressure at all, and you're back to where you started from.
How many matches have actually timed out in the ABT this year? I believe it is a trivial number. That's the only important metric.
In chess, players play in time pressure all the time, but I don't hear them complaining that the time limit is too small.
