Is 2 minutes enough clock reserve time?

WBA clock rules are 3 minutes per point + 15 seconds delay per move. This is plenty of time to allow thoughtful backgammon play by some world class guys to play an error rate of 2 or less.
The average time to shake and roll (sometimes re-shake and re-roll) and to pick up dice is 8-9 seconds. Thatīs why we decided to leave more than just 3 seconds per move beyond that. We have tried 12 but 15 works much better.
I have come to the conclusion that 3 minutes per point is too much (you might want not to use a clock as well), but I also think that 2 minutes per point is tight. The final between Carol and Joe was played pretty quickly but could have been decided by the clock.
The problem with 2 minutes is when match score goes 1 by 1 or someone takes a quick lead and the other one catches up point by point. This is still good backgammon, but even at a faster pace, it can lead to be timed out.
IMHO, the best is 2:30 minutes per point + 15 seconds delay.
At the US OPen, ABT rules had to be applied but WBA clock rules will be changed to 2:30 min + 15 sec.
