Rich I understand your objection but it's not 100% logical - if someone turns up 20 times and loses in the second round every time it is a good indication of his or her skill. He or she might even be penalized for not getting further. Like Phil says people will be encouraged to come more to get their points up. Even in a port like Tennis great players' ratings can sink miserably and they have to slog it out in minor tournaments to get back into the top 100 or 10.

A giant might only turn up 3 times and get to a final and have more points than someone who entered 20 times. We want those guys to enter 20 times and to share their joy of being ranked highly ;-)
