ABT Point System Insight

Ray: I mostly agree with this, but the main problem now with the ABT is lack of attendance/participation.

The US OPEN attracted 50 players between Championship and Intermediate, Chicago Open got 39 recently. TDs need more entry fees to survive it seems to me...

So, a system that rewarded attendance would stimulate attendance, a system that rewards the best players attracts the best players.

If it were attendance oriented then Rod Covlin or Julius High might end up being the ABT champion, but hey... They helped the most directors bottom lines.

Still in all, we just revised the ABT points system recently and addressed the issue of too many points for first, etc. etc. etc.

I dunno that we can keep altering the point system at the whim of the majority each year, but we could start keeping some damn statistics... at last!
