Is 2 minutes enough clock reserve time?

One thing to keep in mind here is that the comments are mostly, if not exclusively, from the better players, who are comfortable with clocks and will see the right move sooner than others. And Neil, 51 qualifies as young in the U.S. BG world.

There are other ways to speed up the game without making it a contest of speed and dexterity. First is the suggestion (I think it was Neil's) that all rolls should count if they dice land flat anywhere on the board, including on top of checkers. (I apologize if this was the topic of another thread.) Second, while 2.5 minutes per game seems reasonable, the actual time per game will usually be higher, due to the cube and gammons. So maybe it would make sense to use the 2/12, but add time for more games. For example, in a 7 point match, it might be assumed that an average of 9 or 10 games will be played. Then, once the total number of games reaches (9 or 10), some amount of time (e.g., 2 min.) would be added to each player's clock at the end of each game.
