GNU's ELO Ratings

What I think happens with Snowie is that it calculates match winning chances based on error rates, with more weight applied to errors nearer the end of the match. It then takes the difference in ELO rating between the players and estimates a player's ELO rating to be proportionate between the two ratings of the two players at the start of the match.
For example, player A has an ELO rating of 2000 and player B a rating of 1800. Snowie calculates Player A to have been a 60% favourite so Player A will have an estimated rating of 1920 and B 1880.
In short, I think you need to concentrate more on error rate than estimated ELO, which depends on your opponents rating as well as your own.
Apologies if this is wrong, but I am only trying to be helpful.
