Yes, that seems exactly how it went down... But I was confused until just before the final, which is my own fault. When he explained it, it made sense, but of course I was left to wrestle with the idea that I would be the first undefeated finalist in this format to have only one match to decide it.

Of course it is much less stressful to secure a seat in the finals without having to struggle through the losers bracket morass.
