An auto-save SGF file every n minutes would be nice too!
About saving unfinished rollout results: does GnuBG handle interrupted/resumed rollouts perfectly? In the past (before multi-threading), GnuBG seemed to have a small problem with them, when the order of plays changed. An interrupted rollout of plays originally ranked A, B, C could end up like this:
1: C 499 trials 2: A 500 trials 3: B 499 trials
when you resume this rollout, the order of plays changed, and GnuBG did not appear smart enough to first give C and B an extra trial, then resume normally.
With multi-threading, things changed but I'm unsure if GnuBG handles it flawlessly. For instance, "stop rollout of play when JSD > x, min 216 trials" often lets plays stop with less than 216 trials. I guess some other play already got the 216 trials in that case, but not the ones that were stopped. Maybe this is unrelated, but it would be nice to know for sure that interrupting any rollout and continuing it later will always give the exact same result as without interrupting.
