But players aren't equal. Your chances of winning (on average) must go down as you advance through a ladder because strength of field will (on average) be stronger, and may go up if you get moved into the loser's bracket, where (on average) the strength of field should be weaker. Even a small edge would add up quickly and affect your probabilities.
