I fully agree we should start now, or as early in the year of 2009 as possible. Who cares if Ray has recently had great results, he's had pretty good results over the years too. Any starting point is going to favor someone and the idea is to gather more data so it will average out so the sooner the better.

I sent out an email in reply to the "keeping overall W/L records will hurt attendance" theory and I suggested this:

I don't see it as affecting bg attendance in a negative way as long as the stats are only compiled and not posted publicly for all players. I'd suggest picking a cutoff point, perhaps the top 20(?) players, and keeping that posted. Anyone who wanted to know their own win/loss percentages or ELO could of course email the person in charge of maintaining the stats and receive them.
