Question -- does the FIBS system have some way of normalizing results against new players? For example, if new open players are rated 1800, some (most, maybe) will really be worse than that. But will their opponent's ELO be adjusted just on the basis of the 1800 figure, or some other way? I'm not sure how to deal with this issue, but maybe the opponent's ELO should not be affected by matches against newbies with less than some amount of rated games under their belt.
