Q: If he splits with a 4, how bad is it?

A: You're a little unhappy, but it's not horrible. He will still have more men back than you. Not sure who will be winning the timing battle at that point. You will have an opportunity to either attack on the five or ace point or step up with an ace.

Q: If he hits with a 4, how bad is it?

A: Game over.

8/4 6/3. You'll be unhappy if White makes the 2 point, but that's life, and he's only got 7 rolls to do it cleanly.

Also, I would double against the slotting plays, but I think White is still short of a cube after the safe play.

I considered 10/3 as well but leaving the other blot in jeopardy when you will quite likely be on the bar next roll is probably unnecessary.
