Super 32 LA Open

My focus was on obtaining simple WL records in order to create a source of reference that is both current and relevant.
Several "purists" keep insisting that an ELO based formula is the best thing... but what I hear from those who have attempted to do that work is that it is too hard, complex, time consuming... and as you and Gregg accurately point out: detailed.
The proof is in the pudding: There is not a national rating/ranking list currently available. Though an interesting rumor that one exists has come to my attention!
So, it's too hard. Maybe someone needs to come up with a more simple formula or something. Else those that planitively cry for an ELO rating/ranking list ought to consider becoming part of the solution by taking part in the data entry. I'll gladly contribute the information I have gathered and continue to gather more in the future, but...
I don't know if I want to be that guy! Pat Gibson told me NO WAY he was going to do it... and he bends over backwards both for backgammon and his backgammon players...
I think Art Benjamin ought to loose his best and brightest on the development of a new and improved formula. Surely we don't have to be stuck with a 20 year old version that is not user friendly enough to be used? It's time for a new version of the software! ELO 2.0, or some such thing.
