damn - did it really take me over an hour to write basically the same as you?

haha... here's a picture of the 1&1 finals format to illustrate your point about how the undefeated semi-finals is worth a ton more than the 2nd chance semis

 

MAIN: 4 (106) -> 2 (188) -> 1(330)

2ndCh: 2 1 => 1 (1st: 294)

4 (23) -> 3 (46) -> 2 (91) -> 1 (110) 1 (2nd: 146)

1 (3rd: 72)




Using the 4:2:1 payout structure here makes winning in the later rounds of the 2ndCh worth less than winning earlier rounds, which seems undesirable. (tho not 'unfair')
