Schedule C.... Incorrect Information re Expenses for Most People

Some gamblers can net their wins and losses—if they are professional gamblers. Most gamblers, however, must put their gambling income on line 21 (Other Income) and take their losses, up to the amount of their winnings, as an itemized deduction on Schedule A. We "recreational" gamblers, outside of Stick and a few other, may NOT deduct expenses! Only losses......
These links jive with my understanding of the tax code.
There is obviously a VERY significant cost to attending events and not winning (net) about twice your total expenses aside from entry fees.
