I see 3 candidate plays.
8/5 24/22 - looks like this is going to get you pounded and gammoned. 3s 4s 5s and 6s hit on 22 and 1s hit on the 2
7/4* 6/4 - makes the best available point while hitting, but leaves 20 shots from the roof. Noting that if missed, 6s to cover the bar and cover the 2 pt blot are duped.
7/4*/2 - makes a less desirable homeboard point and leaves 9 shots.
It seems that the pure priming strategy making the 4 is going to be real tough since blue is likely to have a third or even fourth man back soon. I think there are better chances trying to keep white occupied attacking and hope to scramble out of the rear while hopefully picking up another checker in the process. Given the score, if blue can manage to develop real gammon threats, he can give white a scary and early cube and negate much of white's gammon threat. Attacking (and staying off the bar) seems the best way to get there.
7/4*/2
