Saturday Night Dinner in Michigan

I'm glad somebody else made this post, since I've been too lazy to do so. If the meeting is going to accomplish something useful, as opposed to being a live version of the discussion we could have here online, we should be focusing in on 1 or 2 items that we want to accomplish here before next week. It seems like what we/you need is a "backgammon players lobby" that can work to convince individual directors (or the whole group I suppose) to implement changes to their tournaments. And you need someone to be in charge of it, to take input and have discussions with the masses and then be the face of the group in dealing with the directors. An individual player has a lot less leverage than an individual known to be speaking on behalf of a large group of players.
Well, at least that would be something probably positive and certainly concrete that could conceivably be accomplished in a Saturday dinner meeting. I agree with Phil that it's unlikely anything useful will be accomplished at the dinner if we don't have a short and fairly specific agenda going in. I would suggest that if Stick or others have something in mind, now is the time to let the rest of us know. If not, well, at least I like Benihana's. :)
While I'm at it....Phil made some excellent, useful points here, and the first reply to the post was to snipe at him about something at best tangential to the matter at hand. That's hardly useful. Can we at least agree to keep the sniping on point?
