1) If it works, the 4-point is a better point to have made and it needs to be made eventually.

The distribution after two down from the mid I believe is best overall. Some rolls will make the 5pt instead of the 4pt and it's also a better point.

2) 1 blot as opposed to 2 will lose fewer gammons

Some of these gammon losses are imaginary. Without the cube turned many hit + enter sequences will go D+P.

3) The rolls that hit on the 4-point provide fewer opportunities for white to escape with tempo than the hits in the outfield.

Again, often it doesn't matter if he hits and escapes with tempo because we'll be getting cubed out anyway. I can't assign a tangible number to this because I just woke up.

Hope Keene is rolling this out, if not let us know and I'll toss it on.
