If the moderator of the forum does not have an issue with something posted on the forum, then it should by all means be considered ok.

When you run and moderate your own BG forum, you can draw whatever lines you'd like...

As long as I've been reading this forum, I've seen a grand total of 2 programs being advertised, BGBlitz, and XG; and if you want to count it as advertising, sometimes Petch informs us of a GNU update. How is it getting old? I'd say less than .0005% of posts on this site are advertising something. Even so, isn't one of the best online BG forums a great place to advertise a new tool people may not know about? It's not gratuitous, it's not offensive, Stick isn't selling out by posting banners and pop ups. I really don't see the problem.
