This is a situation where it would be interesting to see what the 0-Ply (or 1-ply if that is the bot's lowest level) evaluation would be.

A 2-ply lookahead here is likely to see the shots and the hits (or the clears and the misses) and thus know exactly how the game will resolve. However, taking away the lookahead may give better insight into how well the bot fundementally understands the position type.

A Snowie 1-ply evaluation says .880 D/T. That is interesting because it actually thinks the game is slightly more winnable than 3-ply, meaning the NN is inherently aware of the remaining potential of the position and is not simply seeing the good things that happen if it looks far enough into the future.
