"The minimum number of moves is different depending upon whether it is a repeat or a re-repeat (where doublets are allowed as the first roll of the sequence).

It’s a good puzzle, one that I almost published thirty years ago. Solution on request. A good separate puzzle is getting from the opening backgammon position to the opening Nackgammon position in the fewest rolls."
