I'm not sure about your logic about why not to give up the anchor considering that the only logic that has merit here is that those checkers can't legally move.

The more I looked at this, the more the truly hideous blot-free play of clearing the 6 point became a real contender. That would probably be my play at GS. But here, it is too early in the match and too ugly and too wimpy for me. As Petko would say - "Be a man".

So I'm with you. 8/3 8/7
