Good luck in Europe

Hello, David, as a Washington, DC area local club director who took a few lumps here recently when I tried to defend local DC players after low attendance at the US Open, I appreciate and commend your desire to defend your fellow European players, both in this and in prior threads.
Allow me to recap the history of your perceived Euro-bashing.
You took issue with a thread I posted about 7 months ago, in which, actually my intent was to poke fun at Bob Koca, who is a well-known player in our local domain. All the places I mentioned in that note were places where Bob cashed in his historic 2008 year-- Carolina, Chicago, California and Europe. You called me out on that and then later in a post on the subject of Julian Fetterlein's success. I assume that was based on that one post as that is the only time I said anything that could be perceived as derogatory, and it was not intended as such to anybody, except a joke to UBK.
You also called out Stick in the Julian Fetterlein post-- now I've only been following this forum for little over a year, and perhaps Stick bashed European players before that, or I missed it, but I didn't have any recollection of Stick bashing European play. And, as he rightly pointed out to you, if he didn't, he wished he had. Stick is an equal-opportunity basher, and to be bashed by Stick is an honor. (Disclaimer: at the risk of ruining Stick's reputation and being subject to a libel or slander claim, I agree with the assessment of most people who have met and played against him live that he is quite friendly, courteous, and likable in person)
Now, as far as Ray's statements- yes, they are dismissive of European players...but, as many of us here know, that is just 'Ray being Ray', and you shouldn't get so worked up about that. Maybe he's just trying to stir the pot a little to get a little rivalry going.
There are good players anywhere that players take the time to study and learn the game, and that includes many good players in Europe, the USA, Japan, and elsewhere. (Please do not feel slighted, anybody, if I left your locale off the list, I don't want to give a geography lesson here).
I, personally, will respect European play a little more if you don't let a USA lightweight like UBK work his demon magic on you guys like he did last summer. :-)
