From a message from ExtremeGammon somewhere else on this BB, XG Roller is a 1-ply rollout truncated at 5 moves (3600 games), which is quite different than a 6-ply rollout. (6-ply rollout implies each checker play is analyzed at 6-ply; XG roller is not doing this.)
