From a letter in the latest CJC Newsletter:

"For reasons completely unrelated to backgammon, Robin and I will not be running the Carolina Invitational in January 2010. There are currently no plans for anyone else to take over running the tournament. Robin and I have no plans to resume running the tournament in the future, but we also will not rule out the possibility. For now, we are simply saying we will not be running it in 2010."
