Monte Carlo Update

More than 3 Danes are competing, around 15-18 or so from the names that have been dropped on the Danish forums. But only 3 of the to players, unfortunately.

I don't think the early starting times prevent anybody from coming.

What does prevent many Danes from trying their luck are the numerous episodes where the TD is way too lenient on cheaters (mainly from Georgia and Israel). Cheating is going on via match fixing, crooked dice rolling, even insta-picking up the dice when rolling root numbers and insta re-rolling after which the TD lets the new roll stand because of lack of proof, etc.

Also no clock preference as "this is a big tournament" in previous years. Also tons of kibitzers chatting in the opponents mother tongue, not minding the English-only-rule.

I have heard too many 1st hand stories to want to go all the way to MC, put down 1200Euros only to risk getting shafted by a lenient TD.

Having said this, MC is definetely on my long term to-do-list as I'd like to experience the atmosphere in MC and try to win the biggest tournament in the world.
