I don't think it's a redouble using Woolsey's rule since I'm sure it's technically a take and I don't think there's enough volatility to justify sending over a loose cube. OTOH, someone who plays mainly in chouettes or money games or someone inexperienced in tournament play might not realize the degree to which gammons lose most of their value when the cube gets to 8 in a 17-pointer and would treat this as a normal money game cube. An 8 point win gives the trailer an 8-2 lead with about 74% ME, an 8 point loss makes the score 0-10 with about 10% ME for the trailer. A gammon loss loses the match with 0% ME so the gammon price is only 10/66, ~15%.
Redoubling a money game player in this position is probably a good idea since there's a good chance of getting an improper pass -- a Ray Fogerlund type of redouble.
