Rich: Doesn't seem automatic to me. Clearing the 11 point is just as much a pain as clearing the mid. What I don't like about clearing the mid here is that blue winds up with a stack of 4 on the 11 point, and it will probably take 2 rolls to bring that down to 2 checkers to even be in a position to clear it. Meanwhile, by making the 9 now, blue is immediately ready to clear the mid.

I automatically played 13/9(2). I really didnt overly think about 13/11(4) for the exact reasons you stated, and I thought it was a no brainer too. GNU disagreed with me.

I have the results at home already, will post them tonight.
