Blue is the match leader, so he doesn't care about winning a BG.

16/9 is certainly reasonable, but I don't care for it. (1) I'm not particularly interested in building the nine point, because the three point is already made. (2) Since all the builders are in a row, some of the new building numbers are duplicated (43 42). (3) It brings only one new checker to the dance.

For all these reasons, if I've already played 16/11, I prefer 13/11 to 11/9.

But I'll go with the slightly loosey-goosey 13/11 13/8.
