PS The very first money changer I ever dealt with was in Seoul, April 1987. The spread was just under .5%. There were some minor issues: the man spoke no English (and I hadn't learned Korean yet); to find him I was lead down a pitch dark blind alley by a procuress I met in front of a bar named Cherry Boy; I had $85,000 in my pocket. But the rate was good.
