They played down to the final 4 ending late Thurs (ie early Friday morning..err not so early due to excessive breaks by a couple players...clocks have to have helped however) and then had the choice to play the semis Fri or Sat and chose Sat.

However, would it make more sense since the rd of 16 is 21 pts, to play it on Thurs, and then the 21 pt rd of 8 on Friday, the semis (23 on Sat) and then the 25 pt finals, always 2;30 Sun ?

If this causes a conso feed problem (it may with progressive consos, then just pay the final 8 (makes sense when there's main bracket of 256 !)

As we see this wonderful event is dealing with some changes from the older way of starting all the losers in the 1st conso and then next starting all the losers in the 2nd conso (ie non progressive). However, the new way is much fairer, IMHO, and the event is managed and run by some very experienced smart people. I do trust that some of the kinks (ie the unnecessary idea of making the consos 7 pts rather than 9) will be worked out.

Just my opinion and as I have said since day 1 here in MC, 8 players should be paid in the main when running a 256 bracket !!!
