non-progressive vs progressive consolation

I would like to know what is the argument that progressive cons are better than non progressive cons since I would much prefer the latter.

The problem with progressive cons in big fields imo is that you get extremely deep fields meaning that people who lose 1.round main have to play a ridiculous amounts of rounds.

It may also be difficult to organize and we all know that the TD's of MC are less than world class.

I like non progressive cons because then you get 3 quality tournaments with significant equity meaning you get 3 good shots.

I realize that for people going deep in the main they may lose some equity and this may be to the best players disadvantage, but I feel the equity lost is small and the advantage of shorter fields which are easier to organize outweigh this disadvantage.
