Pay 8, prize splits(?)

Agreed Neil. I think Malcolm Davis has made the final 8 3 times and lost, and it is the same thing that happened to me in 2006.

That was at a time when the 4 losers in the final 8 were shut out of the first consolation, and earned 0.

I am curious how the prizes are skewed... Is it still heavily weighted on winning? That seems stupid to me. In 2006, I played a match worth $14K vs Luigi Villa, (a former champion but he played over 10 ER against me). That year, the winner got over 80K I think.

So 4 places paid out 80, X, 14.5, 14.5

Musta been like 140 K total.

which could have been split up 50, 25, 13, 13, 6Kx4 or some such...

the 4 round of 8 losers would pay most of their expenses at least. Howard always put too much emphasis on winning, and it seemed to me that MC has too.

What are the prize splits there currently for the record?
