In short handed play is usually where I apply this idea. 3 or 4 players, high stakes, there's likely to be lots of preflop raising trying to steal blinds with absolutely trash hands. (78 off looks like a monster with 3 or 4 players) What this means is that after the flop if you flop anything you should think you have the nuts. Another way of looking at any flop is to take the highest value card on the flop and 'pretend' it's a small card. In my example the flop was 24J I think? Since it got to be HU, sb v. bb, and the flop was so abysmal, I think of the flop not as being 24J, but as being 224. The likelyhood of him having a jack is so small that when I get raised there, it's more likely he's on middle or bottom pair which makes my pair of 7s a monster. As long as you have the balls to follow through on this *theory* and know when you should implement it, it pays off, as you can see ;) That clear it up any?
