This is a very valid question and one that came up here, perhaps Mochy had an incredible read on his opp here, but honestly it is such an enormous error to pass, that I cannot fathom how anyone could be close to sure. Perhaps Mochy felt that his cube was somewhat in error and had some hopes that Lars might pass and doubled, gambling that he could scare him out. It seems that both players clearly underestimated the cubeful factors at this score.
