How crappy?

I hope this is facetiousness. Or has a well known cheat/braggart assumed another name?
Reminds me of a young acquaintance of a couple of years ago -- he was a very decent player, but his youthful (20 years old or so) exuberance and cockiness dictated he verbally convince all of his skill rather than let his play talk for itself and, if merited, establish his skill.
(again, btw, as a disclaimer, this young guy is not anyone I think any of you would know and, to my knowledge, he has never frequented this forum)
Anyway, at the one major tournament he ever attended, he spent the weeked touting his skill. He told one and all that over his last 1,000 matches (all 7 pts or better) on various on-line servers he had averaged under 3.0. Well, the more he was pressed, the more the story changed. The first change acknowledged it did include a number of short matchs (and even a number of 1 point 'matches'). Then he admitted that it was, well, maybe the average of the best 300 out of the 1,000. Finally, he had regressed to the average of the best 100 out of the 1,000.
After a far less than stellar performance for the weekend he left, not to be seen again to my knowledge.
So, I'm a cynic to most such claims.
I've personally seen (and experienced) Sax, Stick, Woolsey, Neil, MCG, Ray and others put up some great numbers and they probably average much lower than almost anyone. I've heard the same, and believe the same, of those such as Mochy, Lyllhof, Falafel, Tardieu and others. MCG has posted today some very believeable average results of his play.
But to the unrecognized player claiming the kind of numbers stated in the post to which I respond: to borrow a British term, "rubbish".
Again, I can only hope you were being facetious.
