Only 20 ERs and from good players that either outplayed or outrolled everyone else in the event. Not even close to a statistically trustworthy result. And not the average crowd either as you say. But, some data is better than no data.

My guess reading the original post was 6.5 also, so now we have 2 data points of guesses. 3 if we include your "sounds reasonable" opinion.

The other thing to be considered is that I would bet that the average ER played in first round ABT Open level matches is lower than the average ER of Open level players. Looking only at first round matches eliminates the factor of better players tending to advance and playing more matches - it is one match per entrant. However, I am guessing that on average, the strongest Open players will attend more ABT events than the general population of players that play at the Open level. Therefore, the stronger players tend to get weighted in even the first round stats more heavily than the general population.
