He went to SUNY-Buffalo, that's why.

For lessons, I would certainly recommend Magriel as an enormous intellect and erudite player and (very likely) fun guy.

I also recommend Joe Sylvester, who gave me some free lessons long ago, I believe quite wittingly and not only over the board. At the time I thought he was likely the world's best tournament player. Joe's in St. Louis now, but can sometimes be found at Midwestern and maybe other tournaments.

There's nothing in these recommendations for me, of course.

Lessons from a great player can be quite worthwhile, even if you have a bot. The bot will enable you both to perform better--the teacher will teach better and the student will learn better under the teacher's guidance.
